WOMEN PROJECTS
Together we can
Women's health is very important for families to succeed. We
believe healthy women live longer and contribute more to their
families. Sower International addresses this critical issue of proper
nutrition, health education, family planning and anonymous HIV
testing. Combine all these efforts and we will lay the foundation for the next
generation to live healthy and prosperous lives. We believe girls and
young women who participated in our Life Skill Project play active
roles in promoting HIV/Aids prevention and life -skills
education in their communities.
Education:
Household expenses: Often, girls are left behind when parents must
choose which children will have the opportunity to get formal
education rather than attend school. A girl's day is typically filled
with chores. Sower works with students, parents, teachers, and
community groups to improve the quality and accessibility of education
for girls, giving them a chance to improve both their lives and the
lives of their families. Girls are selected
from applications submitted from families and recommendations from teachers. Sower International then makes a commitment to support those girls who are
from poor families by providing school
fees, shoes, clothes, and books.
Economic Empowerment program
Every year, women are selected to participate in this empowerment
program.
Women are given the opportunity to start small business; they
reinvest their income by improving housing, educations,
nutrition and healthy for their entire family. Through micro-loan,
vocational education, small scale income generated projects, we help women realize
their potential. We give them tools to improve their lives and
economic status while heightening leadership skills and responsibilities.
